This is a portal into the Metro Vancouver Area rationality community
We value truth over comfort, and results over effort, but effort over apathy.
(Above motto affectionately stolen from our friends in the Bay Area until we come up with our own!)

What do we mean by "rationality"?

Fundamentally, rationality is the study of general methods of good decision making, especially where the decision is hard to get right.

When we talk about rationality, we're usually referring to these goals and the best known strategies for achieving them:

Epistemic Rationality
​( "Truth and Accuracy" )

The art of obtaining beliefs that correspond to reality as closely as possible.

Instrumental Rationality 
​( "Winning" )

Effectively achieving anything you care about, whether that's succeeding in your career, improving your family's or community's health, or solving global problems.
Being rational does NOT mean being an emotionless robot (beep boop).
Rather, it's about doing our best with what we have. And it's for everyone.

We think the world would benefit if everyone had the opportunity to learn these strategies.
